Profile

• After working in the intellectual property department of an electronics manufacturer, where I was engaged in all aspects of commercialization intellectual property, from application strategy and patent prosecution to licensing and patent litigation in the fields of displays, medical devices, printers, etc., I joined an intellectual property firm. After working as a partner of the firm, I established this office. At the same time, I am involved in public intellectual property support projects related to business.

•  I have extensive practical experience in both intellectual property work related to commercialization, such as intellectual property strategy, licensing, and intellectual property management, and intellectual property work related to filing and prosecution procedures, and am capable of providing consistent services from planning to implementation of intellectual property strategies, including formulation of intellectual property strategies with an eye on the implementation stage and embodiment of intellectual property strategies that do not deviate from the intent of the strategies.

• Graduated from Kobe University, Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree

• -2012:Panasonic Corporation, Panasonic Healthcare Corporation:

Worked on color printer technology development and intellectual property strategy for several new businesses. 

Afterwards, in the display field, engaged in intellectual property development obtaining rights in various countries, license negotiations and patent litigation in multiple countries, and patent disputes and license agreements in the medical device field.

And engaged in infringement and invalidity opinions, commercialization decisions, and support for new business of medical devices.

• 2012-22:Nakajima & Associates IP Firm, Partner(2016-22)

 Joined Nakajima & Associates intellectual property Firm in 2012, and mainly involved in patent applications and prosecution related to display devices, medical imaging diagnostic equipment, and lighting. And involved in various types of appraisals, intellectual property evaluations for new businesses of small and medium-sized companies, and intellectual property development support. Became a partner in 2016.

• 2022-:Itoh Intellectual Property Office was opened. 

Involved in assisting companies, start-ups, and universities in the development of intellectual property for new businesses.

Specialization and Services

• Three areas of greatest strength: 1) Patent applications and prosecution in accordance with the intended use of intellectual property, such as commercialization, licensing, and disputes; 2) Intellectual property work for commercialization through evaluation of intellectual property risks, appraisals, licensing negotiations, and litigation; and 3) Supporting the formulation of intellectual property strategies based on surveys and analysis of competition, etc. I support our clients in strengthening their IP in accordance with their exit strategies.

• In the field of technology, I specialize in the electrical and mechanical fields (in particular, displays, printing technology, image signal processing, medical devices, mechatronics, and controls).
